Books I’m Following

Here are some books that have been an encouragement to me!  I’ll continue to add to the list as I find more that have blessed me in my journey. I’d love to hear what books have encouraged you in yours! Please comment below with your favorites!

untitled1Set Apart Motherhood by Leslie Ludy

When I first read this book, I could hardly put it down as it was so encouraging and uplifting but also challenging and spurred me on to be a better mom. I love Ludy’s way of writing as she calls us to be joyful radiant moms because of our looking to the Lord and seeking Him. She also offers practical way to implement the things she talks about, which always is a huge help to me! If I could pick my top motherhood book this one is it!

The Church Planting Wife by Christine Hoover

This book has been such a source of encouragement and resource in our journey in church planting and now to having an established church. Her real and vulnerable writing on the real life of ministry and church planting, truly helped me so much especially the first year in ministry! A must read to those in ministry-especially those in or embarking on church planting!

untitled2Don’t Make Me Count to Three by Ginger Hubbard

This book is about the complete opposite of its title. Instead Ginger Hubbard talks about teaching your kids instant obedience and not “counting to 3”. Its about looking at your child’s heart and showing them how to honor God with their attitude and in turn, their actions. And again gives you as the parent practical examples on how to implement scripture and how to walk your kids through doing the right thing that honors God. This book is my absolute favorite book on discipline and parenting and has been such an encouragement to me!

Leading and Loving It by Lori Wilhite and Brandi Wilson

Such an encouragement and refreshment to read in the life of other woman in ministry!

Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit by Teri Maxwell

This is definitely my favorite homeschooling book! Such an encouraging book and gets your focus on what matters most and the reason why we homeschooling.
